Sorry! I don't think I was fully in gear when I wrote the title and then never mentioned that I wanted RSVPs by Dec. 5th in the text of the message. Anyway, thanks to Marcello and others, I now get it.

Most of you didn't indicate whether roast beef or salmon was your choice, so let me know that. Marcello, Len, and Sue--will you be there on the 14th? I will, if I don't forget!!!

If I commit for Dec 5th, like it's on the title, the party will be on Dec 14th, like it's on the text...

If I say I'll be there on the 14th, you guys are going to hold the party on the 5th. Looks to me that you are trying to curb atrtendance...

Ok, here's a strange idea...how about some dirt bike riders getting together with me and maybe Ed and Carol in our Joyner cagers (dune buggies) to do a ride together somewhere west of Rio Rancho. I know where all the places to get caught climbing steep hills and rowing through deep sand are...so we'll try to avoid those unless you're game!

Anyway, if it is a worthwhile idea to pursue or just too weird, let me know in the poll.

CLARIFICATION (and Marcello thinks he's brain dead!--Sorry for the confusion, first paragraph should make it more clear)

The party is December 14th, 5:00-9:30 pm at the One Up (one flight up from the ground level) on the NW corner of Third and Central downtown. Free parking is available in the lot on the SE corner of the same intersection. PLEASE RSVP BY DECEMBER 5TH.

A buffet dinner of roast beef with French onion au-jus, baked salmon with a pinon and caper lemon cream sauce, and teriyaki chicken satays appetizers (along with salads, veggies, and roasted red potatoes) will be served. The idea is to choose one main course (or smaller portions of each, if you desire) along with the appetizer, salad, seasonal vegetables, and potatoes. Gary and Shelly will bring carrot and chocolate cakes for dessert. Tea and water are served with the dinner and a cash bar will be available for soft drinks and beverages of a more festive nature!

So it would be very helpful to our host, Dave Blanc, to know the number of people and your preference for the main course. You may RSVP right here or to me by email or phone indicating if you're riding in solo or two-up along with your main course preference. Please respond by December 5th!

This is vital to understand: The buffet table will be ready for you starting at 5:30 and closing at 6:30. If you arrive later, eat before you arrive! This will allow Dave's crew to clear the buffet table and clean up while we continue to enjoy the evening.

A brief awards program will be presented at about 7:00 for key volunteers, 2008 Riding Challenge finalists, and door prizes.

Then it'll be time to dance to a great DJ Pete has hired for the occasion.

Retirement, though, is totally another thing. I am wondering what am I going to do with it when Father Winter grabs me by the throat and chokes me.

Mark, I think the place was sold last year. Inside law and order reigns; I have never in my life seen anything cleaner and more orderly, with exception, perhaps, of the Food Halls in Harrod's.

What the town needs is a nice hamburger joint to make it the perfect stop for a lazy afternoon ride, but La Risa in Rbera is but a few miles down the road.

Ok, here's who hasn't turned in their final forms so I can determine your total miles. Don't worry about how many miles Susie or Deb turned in, just get yours in and see what happens!

Those guilty of tardiness are---Michael, Ed, Bill, Mark D., and Lynn. I promise not to assign you to after school detention, just get your final miles to me in the next few days (you can even email the form!) and all will be forgiven.
